The song Sunshine Lollipops And Rainbows has a very clear theme of happiness and love. In the song Lesley Gore sings about her love for her boyfriend. She even sings how "when you're near the rain cloud dissappears". By this she means that her boyfriend can lift the dark veil that is accompanied by rain clouds, it is a metaphor for sadness.

Transatlanticism Lyrics

The song Transatlanticism is a binary opposite of the song Sunshine Lollipops And Rainbows because unlike it, it is very morose. In it, feelings of sadness and depression are sung; for example, the lyric "The rhythm of my footsteps crossing flatlands to your door have been silenced forever more" implies that the singer had a goal they were trying to fulfill that will never be achieved.
